Choosing corporate housing in DIFC

Why the financial district commands a premium, who it suits, and what to check before signing a serviced-apartment lease.

Choosing corporate housing in DIFC

DIFC puts senior staff a short walk from banks, law firms and family offices, which is exactly why its serviced apartments price at a premium. For a managing director on a six-month mandate, that walkability often pays for itself in time saved.

Not every assignment needs the address, though. Business Bay and Downtown sit minutes away at noticeably lower rates, and for teams who commute by car the trade-off rarely justifies the DIFC premium. Match the district to the role, not the brochure.

Before signing, confirm three things: that the tenancy is Ejari-registered, that DEWA and chiller charges are itemised rather than buried, and that the lease allows the flexibility your assignment needs: extensions, early breaks or an assignee swap.
